Chilli Garden: Authentic Sichuan Cuisine in Medford, MA

I came here for a casual date night on a recommendation from a friend and was thoroughly pleased. We got the sichuan cold noodles, which I'm already a big fan of, and they were on point--perfectly numbing, great balance of flavors, and good texture to the noodle. It was very refreshing. We also tried something new for us and got the chicken with sour mustard and green pepper. My partner absolutely loved it! I happen to hate sour mustard, and even despite that the dish was extremely well executed and I ate it quite happily. Chili Garden reminds me of all my family's go-to chinese restaurants growing up in the bay area--a good mix of "authentic" and "american style" classics on the menu, comfortable family-friendly vibe, and great execution. I'm overjoyed that such a restaurant is in the area.

Amazing mapo tofu and noodles - simple but yet so delicious. Very well-seasoned with just the right level of spiciness and kick to it. favorite takeout place in Medford for sure.

Good Szechuan cuisine. Lunch specials $9.50 could be better value than dinner menu $16-$20+. Popular dishes include: - house special cat fish $20 is fragrant spicy and good. Recommended. - eggplant with garlic sauce $12.50 comes with yummy spicy sauce. Recommended. - sesame chicken $15 has some pieces really good, some overcooked dry. Kids favorite. - dry diced chicken with green pepper $16. Chicken meat can be dry and over fried. Spices are nicely fragrant. - general Tso chicken $15 is slightly spicy, also too dry. Can skip.

I've been coming to Chilli Garden for over 10 years, initially with my mom who is from Sichuan. The food is authentic, delicious, and well priced. I stopped by for a quick lunch today after a 3 hour car ride and was not disappointed. My favorite dishes are the spicy beef tendon, which has great flavor and a kick, and eggplant. The lunch special of kung-pao chicken, soup, and rice for $10 is unbeatable too. Food was served piping hot within 10 minutes of ordering and I was impressed as always. Best to dine in for this reason. The service and atmosphere are always excellent too. This place is incredible and my favorite Chinese food in the Boston area. I'll be coming back for many years to come.

First time Came here on a Saturday afternoon, two big party has and other 5tables there, only two server but we're seated immediately, after ordered, the food came out in 10 minutes! Super efficient! Food is decent, fair sized, we ordered Sichuan style jelly noodles, fried string beans & double fried pork belly. the jelly noodle is not spicy at all, string bean and pork belly are delicious! So we went the following day again due to it is close to where we stay during the trip! Numb chili pepper fish filets, Ramen （Sichuan style peanuts noodle, fried lamb with bean paste. Everything came out good，will recommend to anyone craving spicy food！

I went with a group of friends to eat dinner here recently, and two of our friends have gluten intolerance. Chilli Garden was equipped to accommodate, which was wonderful. My husband and I split an order of egg rolls - and they were the best egg rolls I have ever had. I don't know what they do, but the light and crispy outer layer was delicious. Not greasy! My order of sesame chicken was the same... just beautiful. I didn't feel like I ate a super heavy meal after it was all over, which tends to happen when I eat American style Chinese dishes at any other place. Our rice was served in a large dish, family style, which was also nice. This is a must try! We will definitely be heading back.

5 stars for going above and beyond being open on Christmas. You would expect Chinese food to be open on Christmas, but we all should not take it for granted. Short staffed and the food was still spot on. There's definitely an opportunity if any food places want to be open on Christmas, people still need to eat.
